GL.iNet Flint 4 (BE14000) preview

The Flint 4 is the successor to the Flint 3 and sits at the top of the GL.iNet home router line. Compared to the Flint 3, it adds a 10G SFP+ port, an additional 10GbE port, a touchscreen, and higher WireGuard throughput.

Who is this for? Home users and SOHO setups who want the fastest GL.iNet home router: Wi-Fi 7 tri-band, multiple 10G ports, and WireGuard above 1 Gbps. The Flint 3 remains the direct choice while the Flint 4 is not yet available.

The two biggest upgrades are the 10G ports and the WireGuard throughput. For home users with an internet connection below 1 Gbps, the Flint 4 adds little over the Flint 3. For SOHO setups with a 10G network or multiple simultaneous VPN connections, it is a different picture.

Expected built-in features

Based on the full GL.iNet product line, these features are expected:

  • WireGuard and OpenVPN client and server
  • DNS-over-TLS and DNS-over-HTTPS
  • AdGuard Home
  • VPN policy per device and per domain
  • Guest network with client isolation
  • Kill switch
  • Multi-WAN failover

Caveats

Not yet available in the EU. Pre-orders opened 2026-08-04 at $299, but only outside the US — GL.iNet is not selling it in the US during pre-order, citing recent FCC developments, and no EU price or ship date has been published. Check current availability at the GL.iNet store or authorised resellers.

Value depends on the EU price. At $299 pre-order the Flint 4 sits mid-range, but the EU price (with VAT and no EU warehouse) is not published. It only makes sense over the Flint 3 for people who will actually use the 10G ports or the higher VPN throughput.

The ~1,500 Mbps WireGuard figure is GL.iNet’s own claim. It can only be confirmed with a real-world test once EU units ship.
